Volunteers are critical to our program’s success and our Scholars’ development.
Get to know our passionate, high-achieving Scholars on a personal level! There are a variety of ways to volunteer, ranging from one-time to year-long commitments.
Mentors | Year-long
We have two distinct, year-long mentorship opportunities. Project Mentors work with juniors on their Community Innovation Projects, providing guidance and support as Scholars implement community-driven projects of their own design. College and Career Mentors work with seniors as they navigate the college application and decision process. Find out if one of these opportunities is the right fit for you!

Speakers and Panelists | July
Spark Scholars’ interest in STEM and leadership. GLP seeks speakers to share personal experiences and expertise with Scholars. Speak about important topics within your field or organization during our Issues Forums, or serve on a panel to discuss your career path and current position. While most of these opportunities are open in July, we are happy to accommodate speakers during the academic year as well!
Application Evaluations | February-March
During application season we seek volunteers to contribute to our evaluation process. Evaluators receive electronic access to the applications, and all evaluations can conveniently be completed online. Volunteers can offer whatever time commitment that is best for them. Reading applications provides evaluators with unique insights into students’ passions and perspectives, and ensures that our admitted students are the best fit for this opportunity.
Other Short Term Volunteer Opportunities
