ITM Faculty and Staff Update…

Professor Jeremy HajekJeremy Hajek (BITM ’04, MITM ’07) has been appointed Industry Associate Professor of Information Technology and Management, assuming full-time faculty responsibilities. He has also been promoted to Systems Architect in the School of Applied Technology information technology organization; the SAT Computer Systems Managers at Main and Rice Campuses will report to him in this capacity.

(BITM ’11, MITM ’12) has been promoted to Program Manager for the Information Technology and Management degree programs from her previous part-time position as Program Coordinator, and has also been appointed Adjunct Industry Associate Professor of Information Technology and Management. She will also be assuming the responsibility of Director of Graduate Admissions for Information Technology and Management over the next few months.

Professor Scarlata named Chicago Career Tech Outstanding Instructor

ITM Industry Associate Professor Valerie Scarlata received the Chicago Career Tech (CCT) Outstanding Instructor award at a ceremony on Friday, October 28 in the IIT Tower. The award, which did not exist before Val’s previous and current students lobbied for its addition to the CCT honors, was given for her outstanding teaching efforts and willingness to help outside the classroom with resume reviews and interview tips. Bill Slater and ITM 576 students enjoy dim sum

ITM Adjunct Industry Professor Bill Slater realized some of the students in his ITM 576 Data Center Management class were struggling with the complexity of writing their first graduate research paper, so he offered to hold extra Saturday-morning tutorials on writing research papers. Bill followed up the first session by treating the students to lunch in celebration of the 5th anniversary of earning his Project Management Professional certification.
