Gladis Herst joined the SASDI office in June 2014. In her position as a Program Coordinator, Gladis acts as a lead coordinator of STEM Launch, a collaboration between City Colleges of Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, the U.S. Navy and Illinois Tech. STEM Launch seeks to expose and engage students to STEM, careers in the navy, higher education and leadership. Gladis also works on various international and intercultural initiatives, outreach, and engagement. Previous to joining the SASDI team, Gladis worked in education spanning from early childhood education to study abroad. Gladis received her Bachelor’s of Arts from Beloit College in Sociology. At Beloit she studied identity and migrating peoples, which she still finds fascinating today. Outside of work, Gladis enjoys biking, singing, traveling, and enjoying the rich culture that Chicago fosters.

Lisa was appointed the Director of the Student Center for Diversity and Inclusion at Illinois Institute of Technology in 2009.  At IIT, she has also served in the roles of Managing Director for Community Development, Director of Women’s Services and Diversity Education.  Most of Lisa’s career has been devoted to serving students in higher education institutions. She has over fourteen years of administrative and management experience, with noted expertise in community development, diversity awareness, outreach, policy development, training, authoring and managing programs. She is effervescent and celebrates life by inspiring people to talk about meaningful ways to improve the world and then encourages them to go and do something spectacular.

Molly started at Illinois Tech in April 2014. As Director of the Student Employment Office (SEO), Molly oversees operations and processes related to on-campus employment. As a Project Manager & Communications Specialist, she manages internal and external office communications, oversees finances and coordination of internal and external events, orchestrates marketing and social media content and strategies for SASDI and Career Services, and works with the Vice Provost and Career Services office on various initiatives. Prior to joining SASDI, Molly taught English in South Korea for three years in an elementary/middle school and then at a university. She graduated from Truman State University with a degree in English. Outside of her job, Molly is a freelance photographer and photo editor, and enjoys taking art classes and being outdoors.

Megan joined Illinois Tech in April 2012, focusing on special initiatives and supporting students who represent cultures from across the city of Chicago and across the globe. Throughout her work Megan has always had a focus on social justice, intercultural relations, student empowerment, and community engagement. She completed her Master’s degree in International Education with a focus on Higher Ed. Administration and Intercultural Training from The George Washington University and her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with concentrations in Global Cultures and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jackie started at Illinois Tech in March 2013. As Budget and Office Manager, she focuses on the financial and business operations of the SASDI offices to strengthen the financial stability of the university. Previous to joining the SASDI team, Jackie held the position as Department Coordinator in the Department of Psychology at Illinois Tech. Outside of her work at the University, Jackie likes to spend time volunteering, most recently tutoring through an after school program with Chicago Public Schools.
