I want to thank all of you who attended and participated at Monday’s Public Safety Forum.<\/p>\n
A lot of good questions were asked regarding officer’s training and the escort policy.<\/p>\n
At the forum\u00a0I\u00a0stressed 2 important items.<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 Safeguarding Personal Property.<\/strong><\/p>\n I asked everyone to take the necessary steps to safeguards their personal property and valuables.\u00a0 I advised that no one should ever leave your valuables unattended for any length of time whether its to use the restroom or leave for lunch.\u00a0 It is\u00a0a cumbersome task but at least you’ll have piece of mind that\u00a0valuables are safe.\u00a0<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0 Escort Policy<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n In a previous blog, I included the revised Escort policy.\u00a0 Public Safety collects the data for the\u00a0escorts that we provide.\u00a0 We are seeing an increase in escorts that are traveling west of campus into the Bridgeport area.\u00a0 As such, we have modified our policy to include locations that are within close proximity of campus.\u00a0\u00a0 Please contact Public Safety should you require an escort.<\/p>\n Finally, Public Safety has a new look\u00a0around campus.\u00a0 Public Safety recently purchased a new fleet of Dodge Charges for their Patrol.\u00a0 Stop by and take a look.<\/p>\n As always, stay safe and contact Public Safety with any questions, comments or safety requests.<\/p>\n Thank you\/<\/p>\n
