This week the SASDI office attended the National STEM League (NSL) STEMFest for Chicago Area high school students.  Hosted by Ten80 Education and the South Shore Cultural Center and sponsored by the US Army, STEMFest brought nearly 1,000 STEM educators and students together. Ten80’s National STEM League is a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) initiative that inspires all students to engage in sustained learning, through a collaborative network and optional competition league that has been adopted by schools in 37 states.

SASDI staff tabled at the event and met a number of bright high school students who we hope will consider Illinois Tech in the future. We also had the opportunity to speak with STEM educators who are using project based learning models in their classrooms to encourage student innovation. We look forward to future collaboration and partnerships with NSL. You can learn more about Ten 80 Education here.
