This week SASDI collaborated with the Office of External Affairs, Career Services, and the Student Center for Diversity and Inclusion to host a professional development workshop for 10 students from IIT Perspectives Math and Science Academy who are interning on campus for the winter term.
The interns participated in a resume writing workshop and a college and career exposure workshop. Interns reviewed their resumes, learned about appropriate formatting, and shared design ideas with each other. This workshop also allowed for the students to research college options on College Board and financial aid resources on Choose Your Future, a scholarship database. Since the students are juniors, they were very excited to research college options and start planning for the application process.
We are looking forward to providing our interns with more professional development opportunities after the holiday season. A special thanks to Celestine McGee of Career Services and Tanya Cabrera of the SASDI office for leading the workshops!
