This weekend SASDI collaborated with the Office of Professional Development to provide a leadership development training to 30 Illinois Tech students. The students, who came from a diverse range of majors and organizations, were enthusiastic to learn about best practices of effective leadership.

Students are ready to learn about their leadership styles!
Students ready to hone their leadership skills

Dr. Dan Tomal, from the School of Applied Technology, facilitated the engaging and interactive training. Students participated in a variety of hands-on activities that focused on topics ranging from conflict management to building teamwork and effective communications. With each activity students reflected on how the scenarios they were presented with relate to real life situations and work environments. The training enabled students to assess their leadership styles and strengths and identify opportunities to incorporate them into their careers.

We are very excited to provide students and alumni with more leadership and career development opportunities throughout the semester!
