As Graduation quickly approaches, SASDI will be focusing on celebrating the successes of a diversity of Illinois Tech students who will receive their degrees this year. At the 2015 Latino Graduate Salute on April 29th, SASDI and other IIT staff members honored many of the 70 Latino students who will become IIT alumni this year. Many of the students who were honored participated in one of the Latino-focused student organizations on campus: Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement/Latinos Involved in Further Eduction, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers & Undocumented Students and Allies.
As part of the salute, graduates were awarded with certificates and pins and met with Amir Badr from internet start-up “Zebraa” (zebraa.com), a dynamic, free web platform that connects student to employers. Students also heard from IIT Institutional Advancement about opportunities available to pay it forward as IIT alumni.
