Over the next several weeks, we’ll dive into each of the 34 strengths of the CliftonStrengths assessment. Read about the Adaptability and Significance strengths below. For an overview of the CliftonStrengths Assessment, read our introductory blog post.

Adaptability

Do you consider yourself a flexible person who can accommodate last minute requests? Are you able to respond to the demands of the moment? Do you see change and detours as inevitable? If so, your adaptability might be one of your top strengths.

Those with adaptability live in the moment and don’t see the future as a fixed destination. The future is created and discovered one choice at a time. The ability to stay productive even when work and life are creating overwhelming demands is a natural talent for those with high adaptability.

You might have Adaptability as top strength if any of the following sound familiar:

You are: a here and now person.

You bring: a willingness to follow the lead of change.

You need: pressures that demand an immediate response.

You love: spontaneity.

You hate: predictability.

Significance

Do you have a desire to be known and appreciated for your unique talents? Do you strive for excellence, never being satisfied with the mediocre? Is the need to be credible, professional, and successful at your core? If so, significance might be one of your top strengths.

People with Significance prefer work to be a way of life rather than just a job. Significance will drive people to set goals and continue to push past them until something great has been created. Those with Significance want to be known for their gifts and will work to leave a legacy wherever they go.

You might have Significance in your top strengths if you identify with any of the following statements:

You are: interested in being seen as significant.

You bring: a desire for wanting more.

You need: an appreciative audience that will bring out your best.

You love: associating with successful people.

You hate: being invisible or ignored by others.
