Over the next several weeks, we’ll dive into each of the 34 strengths of the CliftonStrengths assessment. Read about the Analytical and Self-Assurance strengths below. For an overview of the CliftonStrengths Assessment, read our introductory blog post.
Belief
Do you have enduring principles by which you live? Do you have deeply held ideals and a strong sense of purpose in your life? Do you have certain core values that are unchanging? If so, you might have strong “Belief.”
People exceptionally talented in the “Belief” have a sense of mission that gives their lives meaning and direction. In their view, success is more than money and prestige. Their Belief talent gives them direction, guiding them through temptations and distractions toward a consistent set of priorities.
You might have “Belief,” if you identify with any of the following statements:
You are: passionate, uncompromising about core values
You bring: values stability, clarity, conviction
You need: a cause or purpose for which to live
You love: altruism
You hate: anything that does not mesh/align with my beliefs
Responsibility
Do you take psychological ownership of what you say you’re going to do? Are you committed to stable values such as honesty and loyalty? Do you keep your promises and honor your commitments? If so, Responsibility might be one of your top strengths.
People with strong Responsibility talents take psychological ownership for anything they commit to, whether it is large or small, they feel emotionally bound to follow it through to completion. They don’t let people down, and they work very hard to keep their word.
You might have Responsibility in your top strengths if you identify with any of the following statements:
You are: someone others often trust to get things done
You bring: dependability and loyalty
You need: freedom to take ownership
You love: the respect of others
You hate: disappointing others and being disappointed by others
