Over the next several weeks, we’ll dive into each of the 34 strengths of the CliftonStrengths assessment. Read about the Connectedness and Learner strengths below. For an overview of the CliftonStrengths Assessment, read our introductory blog post.
Connectedness
Do you believe that everything happens for a reason? Do you have a powerful conviction that everyone is connected and everything is part of something larger? If so, you may have “Connectedness” as one of your top strengths.
People with “Connectedness” have faith in the links among all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost everything has meaning. Certain of the unity of humankind, they build bridges for people of different cultures. They give others comfort that there is a purpose beyond everyday existence. Their faith is strong.
You might have “Connectedness,” if you identify with any of the following statements:
You are: incredibly aware of the borderless and timeless human family
You bring: an appreciation of the mystery and wonder of life and all creation
You need: to be part of something bigger than yourself: a family, a team, an organization, a global community
You love: circles of life and threads of continuity
You hate: an “us vs. them” mentality
Learner
Do you have a great desire to learn and continuously improve? Do you get excited by the process of learning, rather than the outcome? If so, you might have “Learner” as one of your top strengths.
People with strong “Learner” talents constantly strive to learn and improve. The process of learning is as important to them as the knowledge they gain. Learners are energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. They are excited by the thrill of learning new facts, beginning a new subject, and mastering an important skill.
You might have Learner in your top strengths if you identify with any of the following statements:
You are: one who enjoys the experience of being a learner
You bring: a learning perspective
You need: exposure to new experiences and perspective
You love: to live on the cutting edge
You hate: knowing it all and know-it-alls
